 What is Physics Club ?

The Physics Club offers insights to employment in the physical sciences as well as a variety of career opportunities including:

            (1) Presentations by distinguished professionals

            (2) field trips to technical facilities

  (3) information on co-op jobs and

            (4) leads on possible post-graduate employment.

The Physics Club sounds like a bunch of students sitting around talking about physics !!

Not true. We have fun !!!!. Physics Club activities include off campus parties, intramural sports, road trips, student faculty functions, and various other social events.

How does the Physics Club help the physics department?

The club is involved in promoting the department through representation in university activities.  We will also be conducting a recruiting campaign in area high schools complete with demonstrations.  Tutoring services will be provided to area high schools and non-majors as well.

What else does the Physics Club do?

We are a full fledged student organization with University support.  We are also a chapter of Sigma Pi Sigma, The Physics Honor Society, and the Society of Physics Students, a nationally recognized society within the American Institute of Physics.  We will conduct fund raising activities, lobby the university for financial and material support, promote communication between science and math departments, and provide a link between federal and commercial institutions and the university.  We also provide a network that allows students to participate in study groups, receive tutoring, become involved in university activities, and advance your career potential.  The personal benefit for each member is immeasurable.

  How do I join?

Simply attend a meeting.  Dues are just five dollars per semester, and all monies will be used for the benefit of club members.  So what are you waiting for.  Join now before it's too late!
