Saturday 2 February 2008
- About one hour before sunrise, look for Venus 1.2 degrees from Jupiter.
- Before sunrise look for waning crescent Moon lower left of Antares.
Tuesday 5 February 2008
- Before sunrise look for Venus about 4 degrees from Jupiter.
- About 25 minutes before sunrise try to find the waning crescent Moon low on SE horizon - New Moon is 6 February 2008 at 10:44 PM EST.
- In the evening look for Mars in Taurus.
Friday 8 February 2008
- After sunset, look for waxing crescent Moon low on western horizon.
- Try to find Uranus in Aquarius shortly after sunset.
Monday 11 February 2008
- Before sunrise Venus and Jupiter now about 10 degrees apart - Venus getting closer to Sun's position in sky.
- After sunset, look for the crescent Moon in Aries.
Thursday 14 February 2008
- In the evening look for waxing gibbous Moon (just 1 day past first quarter) to the upper left of the Pleiades.
- Before sunrise look for the moons of Jupiter, but be wary of mistaking something else for one of Jupiter's moons.
- Remember Valentine's Day

- Before sunrise try to catch a glimpse of Mercury lower left of Venus.
- Before sunrise Jupiter is about 15 degrees upper right of Venus.
Wednesday 20 February 2008
- Watch for the total eclipse of the Moon. Moon enters umbra 8:43PM EST.
- Look for Regulus and Saturn near lunar eclipse.
Friday 22 February 2008
- Before sunrise watch for Mercury just to the left of Venus.
- Saturn will be at opposition Saturday night.
Sunday 24 February 2008
- Before sunrise look for Mercury and Venus about 2 degrees apart.
- Before sunrise look for waning gibbous Moon to the lower right of Spica.
Tuesday 26 February 2008
- Before sunrise, look for Mercury about 1.2 degrees north of Venus.
- Before sunrise, before Venus and Mercury rise, observe Jupiter's moons.
Thursday 28 February 2008
- Before sunrise look for Antares to the left of the Moon.
- Last quarter Moon 28/29.
