• Crystal structure and binding in solids
• Elastic properties of solids
• Phonons, thermal properties of solids
• Electronic structure of solids, free electrons, energy bands
• Semiconductors: electronis and lattice defects, p-n junstions
• Electric conductivity of metals.
• Dielectric properties of solids
• Magnetic properties of solids
• Lattice defects in solids: point defects, dislocations, interfaces.

Grades:

• Homework assignments (30%)
